Connecting L'Oréal and K-beauty through people's stories
Around 25 pre-interviews shaped a six-part documentary series.
L'Oréal Korea wanted to communicate its connection to Korea and K-beauty. We proposed a documentary series built around the experiences of its employees and brand founders. Around 25 pre-interviews helped us identify the people and stories that could carry a shared message across different brands. We handled series planning, scripts, interviews, B-roll and editing, delivering six episodes, a teaser and 18 short videos.

Challenge
The series needed to bring together different brands and roles while communicating a clear connection between L'Oréal and Korea. Rather than listing corporate facts, we proposed stories told through the people behind the work.
How it went
Behind the work
01Find the story before the shoot
We spoke with around 25 people before filming to understand their work, brands and experiences in Korea. Those conversations informed the selection of stories and contributors, the structure of each episode and the questions we would ask on camera.
02Bring different voices into one series
Episodes explored Korean consumers, brands, research and innovation, and social responsibility. We developed scripts and interview questions with a consistent direction while working with the client to review each message.
03Film the people and the context behind their words
We planned interviews alongside product inserts, brand props and supporting footage. Set design, lighting and camera setups gave the series a consistent visual language, while the edit preserved the speakers’ natural voices and connected their words to relevant scenes.
04Build a series with several ways to discover it
The six episodes were supported by one teaser and 18 short videos. We also developed the series title, intro and thumbnails. The films were released in sequence on L'Oréal Korea's official YouTube channel.
